darksidecowboysThe swedish alternative/gothic rock band Dark Side Cowboys have broken the silence and are to play live again, at “Nostalgifest” (festival of Nostalgia) in Malmö, Sweden, an event organized by Neostalgia. Read more below…

Dark Side Cowboys formed in 1993 in northern Sweden and gained quickly a reputation of being an act that brought renewal for the gothic rock scene. They released 6 studio albums and a bunch of singles and EP’s between 1995-2003 that got lots of praise from the critics.

With many popular songs like the “New Religion” single (2001), the single of the year -98 (Zero Mag)  “UnfortuNathalie” and the classic anthem “Bloodred Moon” (1995), Dark Side Cowboys are one of the most well known Swedish band in history in this genre, and have been compared to artists like David Bowie for their innovative sound and daring music development.

The Cowboys toured intensly up until 2003 when the band gave a 10 year anniversary concert and then didn’t appear live until 2006. From there on there has been silence across the plains until now, when the riders once again have emerged at the horizon.

The current line-up of the band is kept in secrecy at the moment but lead vocalist and founder of the band Nik, is still along. Rumours has it that former guitarist VigilAnte has returned to the gang… For the Malmö show the Cowboys promise a unique concert where they will perform material from their first albums, along with some brand new written songs!
