blocparty2021 byFloreDiamantBLOC PARTY just announced details of their upcoming sixth studio album, ‘Alpha Games’, due out April 29, 2022 via Infectious / BMG. It is the band’s first studio album since ‘Hymns’, which was released in 2016. In addition to the album announcement, BLOC PARTY released the new single ‘Traps’ as a first foretaste of the upcoming album and revealed plans for an extensive UK and European tour.

Produced by Nick Launay & Adam Greenspan (NICK CAVE, YEAH YEAH YEAHS, IDLES), the band returns with ‘Traps’ to the raw, high-octane sound of their earliest works and delivers a driving Post-Punk sound. BLOC PARTY singer, songwriter and guitarist Kele Okereke said about the new single: “From the moment we wrote ‘Traps’ we knew it was going to be the first thing people would hear about this album; we played it at sound checks on our last tour before it was finished and heard how it sounded in large rooms and in the open air.”
