Extreme Metal outfit ARCH ENEMY have a new guitar player in their ranks who replaces Chris Amott for the band’s massive touring activities starting in early October. The new axe-wizard’s name is Fredrik Åkesson who already showed his talent for renowned artists like Talisman, Krux, John Norum, Tiamat and also in his own band Southpaw. His comment on joining forces with ARCH ENEMY: “I was really thrilled when Michael Amott called me up and gave me the opportunity to play with ARCH ENEMY. I am excited about going on tour with them, and to meet you all. C-Ya out there - it's time to burn!"Furthermore the band has just made a kick start on this year’s Ozzfest tour: the critically acclaimed new album “Doomsday Machine” has sold impressive 35.000 copies in the States, dominated the sales at the Ozzfest and made ARCH ENEMY this year’s standout, breakthrough artist at the festival. CANADIAN SINGER J.D. FORTUNE CHOSEN TO FRONT MULTIPLATINUM ROCK BANDFIRST SINGLE "PRETTY VEGAS" HITS AIRWAVES TODAY
NEW ALBUM SWITCH IN STORES NOVEMBER 29
After months of heated speculation, multi-platinum rock band INXS have embraced Canadian singer J.D. Fortune as their new lead vocalist. The new INXS will immediately head into the studio with producer Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams) to begin work on their Epic Records debut, entitled SWITCH. The highly anticipated album is scheduled for a November 29th release.
"J.D. has a slightly dangerous edge and will bring a sense of spontaneity to our live show," says INXS guitarist Tim Farriss. "In addition, he has both the star quality we were looking for and is an inspired lyricist. I think he'll grow with us on all levels. We're a complete band once again."
"It's an understatement to say that this is a dream come true," says Fortune. "Growing up, INXS albums like Shabooh Shoobah, Listen Like Thieves and Kick were a huge musical influence on me. I'd listen to their songs and wonder what it would be like to be in this band. That they've chosen me to be their new lead singer is just mind-blowing."

“alive” release with slight problems
The German music industry has decided on a change in release regulations: From now on, all new records will be released on a Friday instead of a Monday. Therefore, the new Diary of Dreams’ CD “alive” will be released a few days earlier as originally planned, on Friday, 30 Sept 2005. Unfortunately some outlets of the big German media stores Saturn and Media Markt are busy with taking inventories on that day so it might be that in some of the shops the availability of “alive” will be delayed. We would like to excuse any inconveniences …

Taking photos at Diary of Dreams concerts
Since many of you got in touch with us about this matter, we would like to give some general rules for taking photos at the forthcoming DoD concerts: You will be allowed to take pictures, as long as you don’t use a flashlight. Please stick to this principle and make sure that we can all enjoy a great and intimate atmosphere at the gigs without irritating flashes of light. The audience and in particular the guys on stage will be very thankful. And besides, your pics will also profit from that because this way, you will catch the incredible atmosphere and the great light effects of a DoD show.
