Exciting news from the Krayenzeit fold: the band from southern Germany, formed in 2011, will be raising the roof this summer as they present their new album Tenebra, a worthy successor to their 2015 debut Auf dunklen Schwingen, which received unanimous praise from the trade press, the online community and the fans alike. With Tenebra the seven-piece band continue to develop their own style, documenting unequivocally that their musical roots lie in metal but at the same time adhering to the diversity of folklore influences. Whereas tracks such as ´Noli timere messorem` are notable for their driving double bass passages, and ´Ruf der Lamia` for its modern riffing, tracks like ´Narrenschiff` and ´Chimaera` are defined by traditional musical instruments such as the chalumeau, rauschpfeife, tin whistle, low whistle, concertina and hurdy-gurdy.- Details

The album, a personal “best of" compilation by KMFDM protagonists and masterminds Sascha Konietzko and Lucia Cifarelli, who claim the re-imagined, re-mixed pieces would be an "ideal playlist for a live set", commemorates the band’s 32nd anniversary. Ranging from remixes by Bradley Bills of CHANT to producer/musician extraordinary Marco Trentacoste and Sascha Konietzko himself, the re-worked versions extract the essence of KMFDM’s music and, at the same time, place new emphases.- Details
