Austrian Progressive Melodic Metal band SERENITY will begin recording their second album in late December. Once again, Jan Vacik will produce the album from Dreamscape Studios in cooperation with Oliver Philipps (Delain, Imperia), who will take on the choral and orchestral arrangements. Singer Georg Neuhauser promises "more sonorousness" and Jacob Hansen (Tyr, Hatesphere) will make sure there´s plenty of heaviness in the mix. Seth Design, also responsible for the predecessor Words Untold & Dreams Unlived (also Paradise Lost), will again design the albums artwork and layout.Source: Newsletter / NAPALM RECORDS HOMEPAGE

The recordings for the new MIDNATTSOL album Nordlys are complete. This week Tue Madsen will finalize the mix at Antfarm Studios in prepartion for the mastering at Finnvoxx Studio by Mika Jussila. Impressions from the recording sessions can be found on MIDNATTSOL´s myspace page. Furthermore, MS have unveiled Nordlys' cover art, again created by Ingo Römling. Nordlys will be released on March 28, 2008

Frontlady Melissa Ferlaak and guitarist Wolfgang have parted ways with Symphonic Metal band Visions of Atlantis due to personal and musical reasons. While a new guitarist has been found in former and founding member Werner Fiedler, the band is now searching for a new singer. Talent, commitment, and dedication are the requirements. Details here.
