Swedish black metallers MARDUK will land on US soil later this week for three very special dates with Withered and Black Anvil. Said guitarist Morgan Håkansson, “We are excited to finally be over in the states and do these shows after all the problems with the visas. The three shows in August are just the start. We are preparing for a full tour in the winter that will cover all the areas we missed on Blackenedfest. Please join us as we raise the Banner Of The Wolf!”

Following the release of the self-titled “Taake” CD on Dark Essence Records last year, Svertenkunst Produksjoner, have this month released a vinyl edition of the album. The LP comes in an 180g double gatefold version, and features a cover of the BURZUM classic “A Lost Forgotten Sad Spirit” as an exclusive bonus track, as well as different cover artwork and an A2 poster. “Taake” is the fourth studio album from TAAKE, a band that over the years has been one of the definers of True Norwegian Black Metal; using intense, unique, and unpredictable dynamics to create an atmosphere that ranges from ice cold Nordic melodies, to catchy necro riffs.- Details

Like many of you already know, the line-up of the band is going to change: "Angel, Geir, Fredrik and I decided a few months ago to take a break from Apop. Playing in Apop has been extremely time consuming for all of us the last many years, and we all felt it was about time to do other stuff, at least for the rest of 2009." "I am grateful for their devotional commitment, their friendship, their great work, and the innumerable concerts I had the honour to play with them.” says Stephan, and adds "We are all still good friends... I’m sure we’ll be working together again on future projects, but right now we all need all our time and energy to focus on our own careers"
