This June seems to be “Rock Giant Month” in Germany. The good old GUNS N’ ROSES are playing shows in Germany this June, but also Rock Icons FOO FIGHTERS have decided to throw in a stop of their ‘Concrete and Gold’ world tour in the beautiful city of Hamburg around their scheduled appearances on the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals.
Whoever saw FOO FIGHTERS in their 20-year history live will agree to the fact that it does not get any more Rock n’ Roll than Dave Grohl and his band mates. A guy who does not let a broken leg get between him and a good show certainly deserves respect. But this simple event epitomizes the energy levels that the band exudes. Their ninth album ‘Concrete and Gold’, which was released in 2017, has once more complemented the song catalogue of the band with hits like ‘Sky is a Neighborhood’ or ‘Run’. However, live performances from the FOO FIGHTERS seldom run less than 150 minutes, so people who want to take a trip down memory lane will also get their fair share of hits from the previous albums.
So, the only variable for the 50,000 fans will be the weather, so let’s hope that - despite its reputation - Hamburg will be a good place to see one of the greatest Rock bands live and open air.
