INGRID MICHAELSON - `The Be Ok´-Tour 2009

The story of INGRID MICHAELSON’s breakthrough could have been taken from a book of fairytales, as the talented 29-years-old Folk Pop singer with the distinctive glasses is a real self-made-artist who started her career online at MySpace.

She grew up in a New York artist’s family and learned to play the piano as a child. As if that wasn’t enough, INGRID MICHAELSON taught herself to play the guitar and she took singing lessons. After she had passed an actor’s training, Ingrid had to face the hard everyday life of an actress among a large pool of competitors. Finally, she went on tour with a small playing company and started to write her songs after the rehearsals. Therefore, she found out what she is actually meant to do for: Being a singer.

Encouraged by the extremely positive response, she published some of her acoustic songs online at her MySpace-profile and caught the attention of hundreds and thousands. In 2008, her debut album `Girls and Boys´ became a huge success; some of the contained songs can be found on the soundtrack of the US-series `Grey’s Anatomy´. Her song `The Way I am´ was chosen for a commercial of Old Navy (which is an US-American fashion brand) and grew in popularity in Germany and other European countries, too.

The pretty singer, who is said to be very eloquent and likeable on stage, enjoys her surprising success a lot and can come up with a full schedule that will lead her to Frankfurt am Main’s Batschkapp on 5th May.
