These guys mix things up with male and female vocals and swirling guitars, driving bass and electric violin. Rhombus combine some of the best elements of traditional 80s/90 UK Goth, with their own modern, upbeat approach. The Mekano Set The Mekano Set from London originally began as an informal collective of musicians and DJ's improvising around programmed electronic beats. The group's musical style is a combination of post-punk and electronic with an emphasis on distinctive drum-beats, bass and baritone guitar riffs, heavily distorted and processed guitars and unconventional song-structures. The use of baritone vocals, minor keys and drum machines lends much of the group's material a modern Gothic rock sound. Berlin Black A band from York who are producing one of the most exciting sounds on the UK's alternative scene Berlin Black and the Shades of Grey mix together elements of post-punk, glam and new-wave to produce a sound and look all of their own. Dreams Divide Born out of a love for synth pop, industrial and electronic music, DREAMS DIVIDE decided to make its voice heard and give the lovers of these genres a new musical addiction. Sunday 23rd June: Tenek Brighton based and formed in 2007 this band are about hard grinding electro grooves, a power house of classic British synthesiser pop and stabs of driving guitar. They craft these sounds with insanely infectious song writing and strong confident vocals to produce a unique crossover which is credible and satisfying to both the cult electro scene and yet retaining a mass market appeal through the immediacy of their melodies and hooks. Dark and introspective yet rewardingly uplifting and anthemic, their music is for the masses and for the underground and this is why Tenek are vital! The Last Cry The Last Cry are a three piece Darkwave band from the south coast. They skilfully combine keyboards and guitars weaving around the bass lines and coming together with the heartfelt and emotional vocals making their sound as distinctive as the mixture is and drawing the listener into a lyrical maelstrom of fear, despair and void. Joe Black Gin drinking cabaret darling, musical comedy misfit and acid tongued ringmaster Joe Black is one of the leading figures in the dark cabaret genre. He takes an audience firmly by the hand and guides them into a place where the strange and unusual reign supreme. No stranger to the absurd, Joe Black creates a world where the shocking is the sublime and the ridiculous is the beautiful. Living somewhere between the stages of music, theatre and comedy Arcane Winter Arcane Winter are a new Goth band from Nottingham featuring members and former members of Every New Dead Ghost, The Realm and Midnight Configuration. With influences as diverse as Chrome and Hawkwind to Killing Joke and Siouxsie and The Banshees their sound is a different take on early Gothic rock. Arcane Winter are a back-to-basics band with a traditional guitar-vocal-bass-drums organic sound, a deliberate step away from programmed beats and industrial guitars. Already having been dubbed "a Gothic grand guinol" Arcane Winter mix traditional positive punk attitudes with a Gothic sensibility to sublime effect. Scandacross This new project see's Sarahjane (Novus UK/Faithful Dawn) make a long overdue return to her beloved post punk/gothic roots. Music designed to delight the dark at heart.
