The Australian Pink Floyd Show - “Wish You Were Here 50th Anniversary Tour”
To mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of British supergroup PINK FLOYD in 1965 and the 50th anniversary of their album ‘Wish You Were Here’, THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD SHOW returns in 2025. The upcoming tour, named after the anniversary album “Wish You Were Here - 50th Anniversary Tour”, puts the spotlight on the 1975 mega-seller, which has sold more than 20 million copies and is one of the 100 best-selling albums worldwide. The five songs on the album will play a central role on the upcoming tour, which kicks off in Berlin on 9 February 2025 and will then tour a further twelve arenas in Germany. In addition, the “Floydians” can also look forward to the greatest hits and classics from PINK FLOYD’s impressive oeuvre.
What started in Australia in 1988 with the posting of a notice saying “Singer and keyboard player wanted for band. Professional attitude required. We only play Pink Floyd” in a record shop in Adelaide, has developed into an international phenomenon over the past decades and has now been filling large venues all over the world for many years. THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD SHOW has sold more than 4 million tickets worldwide and has performed in over 35 countries worldwide, played at David Gilmour’s 50th birthday and even been joined on stage by David Gilmour and Rick Wright. Today, THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD SHOW is the most successful PINK FLOYD tribute production in the world and a true musical institution that has set standards and inspired a multitude of tribute acts.
These critically acclaimed show, reproducing the music of PINK FLOYD note for note with respect and perfection, has been delighting audiences around the world for almost 40 years. With the aim of reproducing the complete PINK FLOYD experience and bringing both the music of the originals and the atmosphere of their concerts to fans old and new, THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD SHOW creates unique concert experiences. The show includes a world-class light and laser show, video animations, state-of-the-art LED screen technology and other special effects. In keeping with PINK FLOYD tradition, there are also several giant inflatables, including a giant pig and their own unique Pink Kangaroo. THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD SHOW has collaborated with PINK FLOYD touring musicians such as Guy Pratt and Durga McBroom. Lorelei McBroom, who was part of the PINK FLOYD touring band on both the “Momentary Lapse Of Reason” and “Delicate Sound Of Thunder” tours, has been with THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD SHOW for 15 years, with other members hailing from Australia, the UK, France and the USA.
Often described as much more than a tribute band, THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD SHOW is the first PINK FLOYD tribute show to bring the concept to arenas worldwide.
