The Birthday Massacre + support Psycho Luna
The Canadian band THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE (TBM) is a band that clearly develops itself at each new album release, and is therefore one of the most exciting bands of the moment. Their music consists of spooky tunes, rocking guitars, combined with a female voice that is betimes spooky, betimes sweet. TBM combine horror and childishness which results in music that is never really horrifying or really sweet. In September their latest album “Walking with Strangers” was released.
On stage they wear school uniform-type costumes, occasionally with fake blood stains, visually articulating their musical style. Their live shows are widely praised; they are always highly energetic and simply just rock; while the guys passionately play their instruments, singer Chibi entertains the audience with crazy faces and innocent poses that are never really innocent. The Birthday Massacre is fresh, energetic, original, and artistic.
I cannot recommend The Birthday Massacre to enough people; these young musicians know what they are doing and they do it well. Do not miss your chance to catch this small K17 gig (supported by Psycho Luna); by now, it cannot take too long anymore before they will fill the Columbia Hall.
