Have you heard of the Balkan Metal-Folk band MANNTRA? I haven’t! But anyway, on the 12th of February they released the single ‘Heathens’ as a final taster before they release their new album ‘Monster Mind Consuming’ on March 26th via NoCut Entertainment. There is an accompanying video which was directed by Ivan Colic and the single is one of many that have been released as album teasers. According to frontman Marko M Sekul the creative process felt like a battlefield. “You are on the battlefield. Swords, explosions and screams are all around you. You show up and start fighting. This is the songs attitude everyone felt during the songwriting process” ‘Monster Mind Consuming’ when it’s released will be the band’s 2nd English language album and on it, Croatian Folk influences merge with Metal and Industrial to create a “perfectly staged, highly independent musical symbiosis”. Other tasters released so far include ‘Barren King’, ‘Slave’ and ‘Ori Ori’.
Marko M Sekul says “This is essentially a war album, a battle cry for life covering topics like fear, war, being strong and going through a difficult time or heartbreak, being a slave to your fears and being set free in the end. It’s a war against your own insecurities, a war against yourself, and we want you to win this fight!”
