SOLACE is a Stoner Metal band from Asbury Park, New Jersey, formed in 1996 by the remaining members of GODSPEED. SOLACE were in hiatus between 2011 and 2012 because of problems that came and went so often and in such mysterious patterns that the band began to believe they are cursed, this led to the time out that was almost the end of SOLACE. ‘The Brink’ is SOLACE’s fourth full-length record to date. The band’s sound is, of course, heavy, kind of psychedelic and sometimes bordering on Doom. All in all a nice mixture between music to rock to and music to sit down and chill with a nice and cold beverage. SOLACE is creating a nice mood all around, the arrangements make it kind of difficult to pick out songs or performances because of the texture these guys create. Everything fits together nicely and that is what counts in my book.
Conclusion: If you dig bands like KYUSS, CATHEDRAL or SLEEP you may want to check out SOLACE.
