I heard quite a lot about this band in the last months (Rock Hard magazine, Deaf Forever Magazine etc.) and now I finally had the time and enough luck to get my hands on WOLFSKULL and their debut EP ‘Hexum’. Do you know the feeling when you sit in your car on a harsh winter morning and your car instantly starts despite the expectation that it would take at least 5-6 takes and a virgin suicide to get the motor running? Well if I instantly like a band it is just like that only a bit better. The obvious DANZIG comparisons are justified as Pete 9’s voice really sounds a lot like Glen’s but a bit rougher and perfectly fitting the compositions. Feratu’s and Boarz’ precise targeted riff attacks are dry as hell on Happy Hour and the rhythm ragtag (Drop D - Bass, Devo - Drums) guide and steer this heavy rocking warship right home. My fave is ‘Robots in Love’.
Conclusion: If you dig DANZIG and THE CULT you need to check this out immediately.
