Just when you think you heard it all… you get a mail from an acclaimed children’s book author who happens to have a Metal band too... AMORIELLO mastermind Thomas Amoriello is said author and six-string wizard that happens to email me. Let’s look at the press text: “Guitarist and children’s book author Thomas Amoriello has teamed up with special guest musicians featuring current and former recording and touring artists with MEGADETH, KING DIAMOND, TNT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, Shrapnel Records, Metal Blade Records and more.”
Yes, he is a bad-ass guitar-player and he knows what he wants, you can hear and feel that guy has a clear vision of what his music should sound and feel like. Vocalist Carlos Zema hits the high notes and sounds very dramatic and theatrical (sometimes his voice breaks here and there but that’s forgivable because of the epic moments). The only thing that detracts me a bit of the overall quality are ‘The Magic Wand’ it’s just too much in one song and it is somewhat disharmonic.
