As the times change, the world becomes ever smaller and due to this fact I get the feeling that the Heavy Metal scene may finally become the brotherhood we all want it to be. Over Facebook and due to the situation at hand I have the pleasure to review Milan, Italy’s CRIMSON DAWN. The band was formed in 2005 by DRAKKAR’s Dario Beretta and Emanuele Rastelli of CROWN OF AUTUMN and MAGNIFIQAT fame. The goal was Epic Trad Metal, 2006 saw their first demo and now in 2020 they released their third full-length record and christened it ‘Inverno’. Although the band itself and the metal-archives describe their music as Doom I have to add the epic to the mix because the music is heavily laced with Power Metal influences (the keyboard elements do their part). Vocalist Antonio Pecere has a classic Heavy Metal voice: rich, versatile and able to hit the higher notes (even if that is not used to the extend where we enter the full-on power metal mode). As I always say doom with clean vocals is the best.
Conclusion: If you dig bands like THUNDERSTORM or IN AEVUM AGERE you should give this beast a few spins. Check and buy their stuff at: https://crimsondawndoom.bandcamp.com/
