Review Flash

How come I seldom review stuff from the Netherlands? I like the Netherlands! I will find out why later... first: SHUULAK! I stumbled upon this very cool sounding folks during a YouTube video of Germany’s Gore minister (‘Durch die Nacht mitm Goreminister’ - Teil 88) and at first I was a bit shocked because visually SHUULAK reminds me of quite a few 90s bands (from Goth / Shock Rock aesthetic to a bit of Industrial kinda look). I played the guessing game and was unprepared for the simple fact that SHUULAK sound fucking great! Everything I guessed, feared or thought to know based on the visuals was shattered to pieces as soon as Bastiën Baron started to sing. A good technique, good sound, and on top a rich and versatile voice (right up my alley when it comes to vocals). Towers drums are precise and well timed, bass and guitars work as a unity and all together SHUULAK create an appealing high melodic, modern heavy metal package. My fave is named ‘Chaos Born’, a rocking straight forward tune with great melodies.

Conclusion: If you never heard of SHUULAK: after reading this you ran out of excuses bud...
