Review Flash

As is common knowledge by now: I love Stoner and Doom Metal, if you read my reviews, follow my blog on Instagram or Facebook or subscribed to my YouTube channel you know perfectly well that I love some fuzz. My buddy Keith Morash (of Infecting Cells) from Canada is a nifty PR person and he called my attention to TEMPLE OF THE FUZZ WITCH from Detroit, Michigan. Quite often I have minor problems with some parts of newer Doom bands, not here! TEMPLE OF THE FUZZ WITCH play a brand of Stoner Doom that is steam-rolling towards you, crushing you in slow-motion like a dry leaf under a heavy boot. Noah Bruner on vocals and guitar is a skilled six-string savage and his chill and somewhat fragile vocals counter the dry and heavy overall sound of bass, guitar and drums. Thayer plays a vicious bass and Arent on drums slows the whole narrative down quite a bit with his dead slow pace. This is a band that play really fucking viscous, the songs creep, sneak and skulk forward, inch by inch they enter your ears and tear their hooks into your head. If you dig bands like VOLCANOVA, KEELRIDER or ELECTRIC WIZARD tune in and chill out.

Conclusion: My favourite of the record: ‘Cimmerian’.

Rating: 8.5 / 10
