Review Flash

And once again the motto is Hellenic: BLACK SOUL HORDE is a rather classic sounding Heavy Metal band, complete with great vocals, catchy riff and brilliant melodies. These guys decided to assemble a band in the year Nostradamus deemed to be out last, eight years and a few releases (one LP, two singles and a split with DEXTER WARD) later we are here and listen to ‘Land of Demise’. BLACK SOUL HORDE mix old-school classic Heavy Metal with Doom and Power Metal and as difficult as that sounds it does work quite well. Jim Kotsis has a very interesting vocal style as he has moments that remind me of Ozzy and even OVERKILL’s Blitz. As we all know: with great riffing power comes great riffing responsibility and these riffs are in very good hands with Costas Papaspyrou and John Tsiakopoulos. Drums are provided by Vasilis Nanos who is a very young but fucking talented mate. All in all this is epic as fuck and uplifting, ass-kicking Heavy Metal at the same time.

Conclusion: If you like Heavy Metal with a bit of Doom here and there you should check these guys out and support Greek Metal.
