Review Flash

The first thing you think of when hearing of Gothenburg, Sweden is rather Death than Thrash Metal but here come PAGANDOM and kick down the door with their kick-ass melodic Thrash Metal. Originally born into this sharp-teethed existence in 1987 under the name of KUNG only to disband after nine years, three demos and one full-length in 1996. Luckily Thrash Metal, just like life itself, always finds a way. Fast forward to 2014 and the Gothenburg Sound Festival, Shred-master Martin Carlsson and the man with the microphone Christian Jansson reunite, under the new name PAGANDOM and boy these guys aim for the throat. I really like the fact PAGANDOM named their style: Noschool Thrash. Sound-wise this is right up my alley, melodic yet packing a decent punch when it comes to the aesthetics of Thrash Metal music. Jansson on vocals is a nice mix of controlled force and clean melodic parts, the riffs are always delicious and the drumming is brutal but still focused like a out-of-space-death-ray. I honestly don’t know if I should be sorry or happy about the anger these dudes seem to feel to be able to make music like this...

Conclusion: If you like audible brutality mixed with melodic moments without endangering the sounds bad-assery: check this out, it fucking rips!
