So here we are again: the last time I listened to HOWLING GIANT was when last year’s split EP with SERGEANT THUNDERHOOF named ‘Turned to Stone, Chapter 2: Masamune & Muramasa’ hit shelves and minds alike (that EP blew me away...). Now HOWLING GIANT is back and this time it is an instrumental journey. To be honest I am no fan of instrumental records most of the time but all the trademarks of HOWLING GIANT's sound are still there so, of course, this sound awesome both from a melodic-driven standpoint as well as the pure attitude of the sound the guys are forging (the guitar sound alone is pure gold and together with these kind of arrangements...). This instrumental EP is a result of these guys Twitch streams (which they do regularly, so tune in). To point out a track is nearly impossible for me because I see this as one big, fantastic jam session. So, if you guys like awesome sounding music that has a big jam session feel to it you might just go ahead and buy it because it sounds totally dope.
Conclusion: If you dig bands like MASTODON or SERGEANT THUNDERHOOF you are in for a treat.
