New Haven, Connecticut’s very own ENTIERRO formed in 2013 (originally as a Doom / Stoner band named TREEBEARD). This four-piece evolved into a more classic US Metal combo with a sound that reminds of THE CULT (but more on the rough side of heavy music). Chris Taylor’s voice is raw but rich and variable, there is a special kind of verve in his voice that makes it really enjoyable to listen to him. Although ENTIERRO fully embrace their NWOBHM roots the sound is quite modern at times but never dull or too artificial. The band describes their sound as influenced by traditional bands and that is easily audible as you can hear homages to IRON MAIDEN, DIO and even a bit of JUDAS PRIEST. The melodies harken back to the metallic days of old and even if there’s hardly any bands that are truly comparable to the gods of yesteryear, every now and then there are good and even great moments in the music of contemporary outfits like ENTIERRO.
Conclusion: These guys are really worth you check them out and sooner than later if you don’t mind.
