I do like Heavy Rock and 70s oriented Heavy Metal like the next guy but sometimes the job gets stale because you listen to too many bands that sound alike and it is just tiring as fuck to do repetitive shit like that... LYNX are not a part of this rant because the do rock! If you like the feel and vibe bands like BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, BOSTON and THIN LIZZY give off you got to love the sound of LYNX. This stuff is decelerating, recreational and thick with influences of a dozen 70s and 80s bands but without copying some particular style or sound. Marvin Kiefer’s vocals do remind me of HIGH SPIRITS Chris Black every now and then but, of course, Chris is a very good influence and a fantastic musician. Sound-wise the dry and clear production suits the old-school approach very well, this really sounds and feels like music of the days of old and I am all here for it. For a band that was just formed a year ago this is pretty decent stuff and I think just a first taste of great things to come.
Conclusion: Love it old-school? Just buy this already!
