Review Flash

SCRYING STONE is a band that was damned to psychedelic musicianship; the band hails from Kalamazoo, Michigan (the most psychedelic name a city can have). I don’t have any more info to be honest because there was just an email with a download code instead of an expressive press text. Sure thing is that this band is more or less in the vein of most 90s Stoner musicians that smoked their dope in the dry desert heat of California’s Joshua Tree. The music of SCRYING STONE is leaning more into the DESERT SESSIONS project of Homme and Bjork than KYUSS or QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE in the way that the whole material has more of a jam session feel to it compared to catchy tunes like QOTSA’s ‘The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret’ or KYUSS’ ‘Green Machine’. If you dig the looser compositions, you are in for a treat and should just add this to your music-to-smoke-to collection.

Conclusion: For fans of Homme’s and Bjork’s DESERT SESSIONS.
