Review Flash

IBRIDOMA is a band that manages to sound like a mix between old-school Heavy Metal, Power Metal and even a bit of more extreme influences. The typical Italian vocal style (more leaning towards Power Metal when it comes to the technical side and the tonality) meet melodic yet rough melodies with killer riffs and drums that sometimes sound almost subtle. As always, I am not able to pinpoint where the bass sound is but that is a thing that has become so normal it almost does not bother me anymore. As for Christian Bartolaccis vocals: I’d wish for more aggression or a bit of lower sung parts here and there because most of the time he is hitting notes that sound alike and these do have an effect on me that makes it a bit stressing to listen to ten songs in a row (there are fragments in ‘Into The Sea’ that remind me of Dave Mustaine, I like the change-up in this song and would love to have more of that). As the album plays on, we even get a pandemic song called ‘Pandemia’ and, thank God, it is not a Covid denying pile of shit but rather a track that delves into what happened and what we felt like in the time of the lockdowns. Musically and technically, there is nothing to criticize for me to be honest, the fact that I feel it is a bit stressful to listen to this in its entirety is nothing special as I feel the same when it comes to most Extreme Metal releases simply for the sheer heaviness and brutality of said music. If you like said genres you should check this out.

Conclusion: Music to ride your motorbike to.
