Wacken Open Air Day 3: Orden Ogan, Tyr, Tiamat, Fear Factory, Cannibal Corpse, Immortal, Lock Up, Unleashed, Ektomorf
And so on day three of the behemoth of a festival that is Wacken, I decided to be discerning today in my choice of bands, resulting in seeing not so many but more of an excellent to my taste calibre. During the last day of Wacken Open Air, I covered shows at Black Stage, Party Stage and Wackinger Stage

The weather god was with us on the second festival day. At first it looked like it was to become a rainy day, but except a few drops nothing came down. Soon the clouds cleared and we looked into a clear blue sky which raised the mood for the second day that had in stock established bands like IMPLANT, DIORAMA or SUICIDE COMMANDO but also one or the other surprise…

Summer Breeze Open Air Day 4: 1349, The Crown, My Dying Bride, Children of Bodom, Dark Funeral, Warbringer, Sepultura, Posinblack, Van Canto, Be’lakor
A new and last day at the Summer Breeze Festival - as usual, the heat woke most people up and so I went to meet up with some people, spending the time talking, watching some bands. Especially the evening program was going to be a tough one with lots of enjoyable bands and no time for a rest.

Wacken Open Air Day 2 - Wackinger Stage: Equilibrium, Letzte Instanz, Schelmisch
The Wackinger stage is a far smaller stage, set in the Wackinger village where all of the medieval marketers are, and as such has a slightly more off the wall ambience to it. Of all the stages at Wacken it's my favourite, being far more chilled out and less hectic than the main arenas. That doesn't mean however that the standard of the bands is any less and the three on Friday night proved to be an awesome combination.

And so I went for a one day festival with a killer line-up, through the beautiful Mosel valley to Andernach in Germany, certain of a great day. The festival site is located just a short drive from Andernach, with hard standing, which, given the unfortunate weather, was a Godsend. It’s worth organizers of festivals bearing this kind of thing in mind as anyone who was at Glastonbury during the mud year will vouch for. So, with nice dry feet I watched a plethora of talent from across Germany and the Netherlands.
