Silbermond, Do you mind
SILBERMOND is one of the many young German bands which have risen over the last two or three years to gain immense success in their home country. The fact that most of them are fronted by a female vocalist singing in her native language already has become some sort of cliché and a formula that major record label use to sign more and more bands of that kind, hoping that they have the next big thing at their hands. We checked out SILBERMOND’s “Laut gedacht” tour to see if this band has more to offer than just a few radio-friendly Pop tunes.

Laibach
I had of course heard and enjoyed Laibach's new album Volk before attending the concert in Lund, but now I was very curious to see how they would make this work live. Not only is it uncharacteristically sounding and calm, but we are also used to see quite high energy performances from the band in the past. http://www.laibach.nsk.si/ / http://myspace.com/laibach

Laibach
Ah, the long waiting has been worth it. Finally it was Friday, December 8th, and time for Laibach. For years they have been undeniable in the industrial and experimental music. If you aren’t to sure whom I’m talking about, some of their well known songs are: Tanz Mit Laibach, and Alle Gegen Alle. Yep, it’s that Laibach I’m talking about. Tonight they performed in Tivoli, and let the people listen to their new album Volk.
There were some rumours going around that it was sold out. I don’t think it was, but because the balcony wasn’t open it was still quite busy in the venue. According to the Time table the show would start at 20.15. There was some music starting at 20.15. A CD with different folk songs. Most of it sounded eastern European. This went on for about 45 minutes, then around 9 o’clock the venue became dark, and the Dutch national anthem ‘Wilhelmus’ was played. The only light were the big cinematic screens in the back of the stage showing an old movie. And so, the experience began…

Live-Music-Hall, Cologne, Germany
04th December 2006
CRADLE OF FILTH, DEATHSTARS, INCUBATOR
My last visit to the Live Music Hall in Cologne has been quite a while, but for one of the four CRADLE OF FILTH concerts in Germany a two-hour-trip over the rocky freeways was a matter of true loyalty. Exactly at 8 pm we were waiting in a mob of Goths and Metal heads to get into the concert hall. It had been a predictable fan base, because the artists who were going to perform this evening are having a reputation.

IAMX and Warren Suicide
IAMX, the “dark side of the SNEAKER PIMPS”, are on tour in Germany. What to expect? Definitely a concert of a special kind. Less a real band but rather a piece of art mixed of music and visual conception, IAMX show impressively that also an electronic band can present a grandiose and powerful show. Support band for the German tour were WARREN SUICIDE from Berlin.
