DRAGON EYE MORRISON has been waking up Portsmouth and surrounding areas in UK with their rage and venting since 2003. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE with shots of MASTODON (for example), a fiery mixture of great amount of screaming and growling savagery of hammering and uncompromising vocals. Melodic dense and superbly harsh onslaught of Progressive / Alternative Metal saw them releasing several singles before and playing alongside some other acts (GOD FORBID, TESSERACT, THE HAUNTED etc). They’re disgruntled by mediocrity and lack of substance and intelligence in the shallow waters of today’s music and probably affected by the increasingly vacuous culture of the Old Blighty and modern world at large respectively. I’ve enjoyed the contrast of their vocals, especially when in ‘Wendigo Down’ they go into melodic singing together. The progressive parts are great, not a show off of their technical skills as it is for some bands, but an intrinsic part of their music... and sound to me as the more melodic (I mention that word again because it is surely their defining characteristic) ISIS. I’d watch out for them smashing the scene with a good dose of anticipation. Here comes a verdict of few words - great single.
