Backstage, Munich, Germany
16th April 2009
Haggard, Cumulo Nimbus

With publication of their fourth studio album ‘Tales of Ithiria’ on the 29th August 2008, the Munich band HAGGARD left the paths of history for the first time and devoted themselves to the conflict of the bad against the property based on a fantasy story. How this would sound live I could see and hear on the in the Backstage, Munich.

Cumulo Nimbus

Support was the Middle Ages- and Renaissance-Rockband CUMULO NIMBUS in this evening, founded in 2000 in Landsberg / Lech. Their name means in German "storm cloud". They thereby differ from other Middle Ages-Rockgroups because they search their roots rather in the time of the Renaissance. Scarcely their sixth album ‘Stunde der Wahrheit’ appeared. http://www.cumulo-nimbus.de/

Music & Performance
Then, shortly after 9:00 PM it was time and Erik der Müllermeister (voice, guitar, sounds), Kaeptän Köhler (bass), Mathis Mandjolin (voice, guitar, crooked horn), Pat Houdt (percussion, djembe), Carolynn (voice, flute) and Lady Doro (voice, violin) of CUMULO NIMBUS entered the stage. Their appearance offered a successful mixture of rock songs, ballads and lots of humour. They knew very well how to incorporate the audience. A successful insert was an instrumental which they played for some courageous spectators who dared to bring forward their art of dancing in the circle built by the audience. After nine songs their show ended and they got blustering applause for it.

Haggard

1991 was the foundation year of the Symphonic Death Metal Band HAGGARD. Creative head of the band is Asis Nasseri for whom it was not easy in the beginning to leave the paths of history for a fantasy story in the course of the new album. http://www.haggard.de/ / www.myspace.com/haggard2007

Music & Performance
The good tempered audience could enjoy the result of this change after the rebuilding break. HAGGARD, consisting of foundation member Asis Nasseri (voice, guitar), Susanne Ehlers (soprano voice), Veronika Kramheller (soprano voice), Fiffi Fuhrmann (tenor voice bass), Andreas Peschke (flute), Steffie Hertz (viola), Johannes Schleiermacher (cello), Claudio Quarta (guitar), Hans Wolf (piano, keyboards), Luz Marsen (drums, percussion), Ally (violin) and Schummi (percussion) entered the stage which was decorated romantically with candles and torches.

There followed a fantastic mixture of hard rock and the graceful song of the sopranos, propelling guitar sounds as well as tender sounds of the string players. The appearance was a "home match" for the band; there were vast amounts of friends and relatives in the audience. The mood in the hall was expressed and the concert ended with beating applause for a really fantastic evening.
