4 years after 'Bloodstained Endurance', TRAIL OF TEARS are back with their new album titled 'Oscillation'. As the band announced, 'Oscillation' is the last TRAIL OF TEARS album. Some conflicts in the band led them to decide that this is their last album. About the music, now in this album we see TRAIL OF TEARS trying to move closer to NIGHTWISH's music style but they also keep that dark, gothic, death metal influences. Cathrine Paulsen's semi-Operatic vocals are very good and are having the main vocals role, Thorsen’s growls in this album seems to be supplementary. Bjørn Ness on the guitars made a very good job and with Audun Gronnestad's keyboards are making a very good combination. The production is very good helps to highlight the bombastic sound of the band. In my opinion the best tracks of the album are ‘Vultures Guard My Shadow’, ‘Sleep Forever’, ‘Lost In Life’ and ‘The Dawning’. After seven albums TRAIL OF TEARS are leavings us with a good but no evolutionary album.
