Album Review

TYTUS is an Italian Heavy Metal band that was assembled in 2014 and is located in Trieste, Italy. The foursome currently play a mix of traditional Heavy and Speed Metal, The Metal Archives compare TYTU’s style with that of the band HEART OF CYGNUS (idk). I rather compare their style to 80s Thrash titans like METALLICA and ANTHRAX because it’s melodic riff and rhythm laden Thrash with a singer that reminds me a bit of TESTAMENT’s Chuck Billy some 20 years ago and sometimes even a tiny bit of Dave Mustaine and all that is mixed with influences of the NWOBHM... sounds odd? Yeah but in a good and organic way!

The record directly starts with ‘Disobey’, a real head-banger if there ever was one. All of the songs are mid- to up-tempo but nothing too hectic or agitating. TYTUS have shared the stage with a lot of bands like WARRIOR SOUL, PENTAGRAM and VALIENT THORR so they know their craft. The only thing left to desire is a concrete hit, an earworm, something that stays with you for a while. Although TYTUS sound really well they still have to write and record that hit that changes the stakes for them. I wish them the best of luck because after getting in contact with the band via Instagram I learned that they not only are kick-ass band, they are also humble human beings that appreciate their fans and the support. Check TYTUS out and give this band a chance, I did.
