The idea for ‘Gothic Vision’ goes back to 2004, short after the foundation of the Echozone label. The original idea was a compilation not only containing well-known videos being included on any other genre compilation anyway. With some delays, on 17th May 213 the fourth edition of ‘Gothic Visions’ will be released, including again besides video clips also an audio CD and audio tracks on DVD as well as several specials. The new edition comes again as DVD+CD Special Edition with a varied selection of songs. With 58 video clips and extras on DVD plus 53 audio titles on CD and DVD, this edition offers more than 500 minutes playing time with a wide range of musical styles from Gothic, Wave, Cold Wave, Dark Rock, Electro Wave as well as Minimal, Indie and Dark Electro.
Besides such well-known bands like THE 69 EYES, EPICA or THE MISSION, ‘Gothic Vision 4’ takes you onto a journey to explore unknown bands and music with different styles. Classic Gothic, Rock and Wave cross modern Minimal, Indie, Shoegaze as well as Post Punk influences. Altogether, the compilation gives a fascinating overview over the alternative scene music, being diversified and full of different styles. Once more, the label proves that quality and quantity can be perfectly marched together. And besides that, the release is available for a very decent price. The main focus in ‘Gothic Visions 4’ lies more on Goth Rock than on aggressive and monotonous Industrial and EBM. The selected videos are well-chosen, with perfect story lines and effects. Some highlights are surely PRINCIPE VALIENTE, CHIASM, or EPICA as well as i.e. DIE PERLEN with their retro 80s sound.
What’s left to say at the end? ‘Gothic Visions 4’ is definitely worth buying and good company for the serious moments in life.
