VICTORIUS is a German band formed in 2004. ‘The Awakening’ is their second album on which they give you a recycled bag of GAMMA RAY, MANOWAR, STRATOVARIUS with few Speed Metal and other clichéd HM formulas in which it’s difficult to find something unique or really find something that could be unique to them. Sure it sounds like classic bonanza and in that can lay its fun if you switch off to the kind of modicum of naive ideas parading around like a revolutionary seed proselytizing as if Holy Grail has been found. Yes, ok, lyrics don’t have to be challenging but it’d be nice if they didn’t follow the easy formulaic approach as well. Where’s creativity? Oh well, not here. I’d give it a miss.
