Faith And The Muse
FAITH AND THE MUSE inarguably are one of the most diverse bands the common Goth Rock and Dark Wave scene has to offer. Though it would be a bit of a limitation to pigeonhole them into these two genres only! Their influences range far beyond the boundaries other bands wouldn’t dare to cross. Folkloristic, electronic, even neo-classic elements have found their place in this sound cosmos, FAITH AND THE MUSE started cultivating since being brought to life in 1994. With their newest album ‘:ankoku butoh:’, released in 2009, 6 years after the last one ‘The Burning Season’; Monica Richards and William Faith once again set the bars high both in musical and visual ways. FAITH AND THE MUSE Live was Monica Richards (vocals, instruments) William Faith (various instruments, vocals), Paul Mercer (viola), Julia Cooke (taiko drums), Steven James (guitar), Marzia Rangel (bass, violoncello) and Geoff Bruce (drums). http://mercyground.com/ / http://www.myspace.com/faithandthemuse

M’era Luna 2010 Day 1 Hangar Stage: Crematory, Eluveitie, Rotersand, Das Ich, Brendan Perry, Faith And The Muse, Illuminate, Ignis Fatuu, Leandra, Sons Of Seasons
The Hangar program of the first festival day was more guitar influenced. Just ROTERSAND and DAS ICH were holding the electronic flag high. With FAITH AND THE MUSE and BRENDAN PERRY, the Hangar also had two high-class bands to offer. QNTAL, who also were planned for the Hangar, had to cancel on short notice and IGNIS FATUU filled the gap. As always, the Hangar was a bit problematic; during several bands it could not take the crowds wanting to see the show. So, during ROTERSAND and DAS ICH, lots of people did not get admission to the hall anymore because it was already too crowded…

This year’s M’era Luna Festival was a big success for the promoter. Already in Friday afternoon, a big part of the guests arrived to give live to the camping ground and start the festival weekend with the party at the hangar. The first festival day at the main stage was headlined by SISTERS OF MERCY. Winner for the newcomer contest, UNZUCHT, opened the program.

Combichrist, Dismantled
First of fall I drove to Karlsruhe right after finishing my work at the office on that Friday. The venue is really far away and so I did my journey in two steps. Then, on Saturday I reached Zurich very early when the promoter at the venue weren’t ready for opening the doors. But that wasn’t really a problem. I just discovered the surrounding and had time for some sightseeing. Then I was sitting down in the cafe right opposite the concert hall. Because of my early arrival I had the chance to listen to the sound checks of both bands. The Switzerland show was the only one without the support of RABIA SORDA and at the same time the last one of the tour.

Gothic Festival 2010 Day 3: VNV Nation, Faith And The Muse, Alien Sex Fiend, Spectra*Paris, Unheilig, The Eden House, Rabia Sorda, Bettina Köster, Star Industry, The Exploding Boy, Vic Anselmo, Erato
Well, the last day of this extraordinary festival had already come. Surprise of the day personally was THE EXPLODING BOY from Sweden with their catchy Indie Pop based on bass lines sticking in your head for a long time. Finally, VNV NATION took care for a big party at the end of the day.
