BOY HARSHER are coming to Germany and Austria in November for seven shows! After months in the studio, between streaming releases and new projects, many bands eventually feel the longing for the stage return. Songs only unfold their full power, gain new dynamics and develop an intensity that can hardly be recorded when in direct exchange with the audience. This is exactly where BOY HARSHER come in. With their new “The Heartbreak Tour 2026”, the US duo returns to European concert stages in autumn, bringing the new tracks from the upcoming album ‘Get Mean’ for the first time. The single ‘Jeans’ made the start just a few days ago, marking both the first musical sign of life in a long time and the harbinger of a new chapter. After years in which Jae Matthews and Augustus “Gus” Muller focused increasingly on film and soundtrack projects, the focus is now back on what has made BOY HARSHER one of the defining bands between Dark Wave, EBM and minimalist Electro-Pop since their formation in 2014: haunting songs, stripped-back arrangements and an unmistakable atmosphere.
Matthews and Muller met during their film studies in Savannah, Georgia. Their shared passion for cinema shapes their work to this day. In 2022, they released ‘The Runner’, which was not only an acclaimed soundtrack but also a horror short film they wrote and directed themselves. The duo is currently working on their first feature film ‘The Lonely Woman’, starring Chloë Sevigny, FKA twigs, Sturgill Simpson and Will Oldham, among others.
Musically, BOY HARSHER were never exclusively bound to one scene either. Post-Punk, Industrial, Minimal Synth and Electronic Body Music merge into a sound that feels just as cool as it does emotional. Muller’s analogue synthesisers and punchy beats form the foundation, while Matthews adds extra depth to every song with her distinctive voice and haunting stage presence. Fog, sparse lighting design and massive bass frequencies turn their concerts into an intense total experience that extends far beyond the music.
The upcoming European tour follows an extensive North American leg and marks the duo’s first major concert tour on the continent in a long time. For many fans, this offers the first opportunity to experience the new songs from ‘Get Mean’ live - alongside tracks from a discography that has earned a reputation as a modern classic of the electronic underground scene in recent years.
In autumn 2026, BOY HARSHER are coming to Germany and Austria for a total of seven concerts. On numerous dates of ‘The Heartbreak Tour 2026’, they will also be joined by the US Synth-Pop band CHOIR BOY, whose melancholic sound between Dream Pop, Post-Punk and 1980s synthesiser sounds opens the evening atmospherically.
