The Melodic Thrashcore band SCRATCHED SURFACE from Germany hits the road to kick your ass. On the one hand the sound of the album is inspired by straight Thrash Metallike Machine Head, Metallica, Slayer and Sepultura and on the other bymodern metal like Slipknot and Mudvayne as well as hard Metalcore andSwedish death-thrash like the Haunted and At The Gates. SCRATCHED SURFACEare mixing this extreme and hard sound full of moshparts and intense grooveswith their own characteristic style along with various emotional, melodicparts and create thereby their own, distinctive sound. Songs like “Hold TheLights You Own” or “The Great Fall” are standing in accord to powerful andbrute Oldschool Thrashers like “Break To Arise”.Artwork designer and singer Babic adopted this very intensity and dynamic and created a CD cover adaptedto the title and the music. The whole thing was mastered by nobody less thanAndy Classen (at the Stage One Studio) who again distinguishes himselfthroughout his brilliant and pounding wall of sound.Their Demo-EP “Look Away Blind” which gains outstanding critics in internetfanzines as well as in the print media like Legacy, bloodchamber.de (Demo ofthe Month). On the one hand the songs are brutal, heavy and gloomy and onthe other melancholic and atmospheric elements define the typical sound.
