With the beginning of the dark season we’re pleased to announce three brand-new additions to the Amphi festival 2009. For the start of the second half of the program you can expect lots of diversity with three absolute jewels of the scene
New band confirmations: KMFDM, QNTAL and THE OTHER
Get ready for the Ultra Heavy Beat with the Industrial pioneers of KMFDM. Founded 1984 in Hamburg, mastermind Sascha Konietzko and his crew belong to the most creative and influential factors in the scene. Hard but fair, they’re heating up every kettle with their distinct style of shredding riffs and futuristic electro attacks and insist on celebrating their 25th anniversary with you at Cologne’s Tanzbrunnen.
Not less characterizing, but on other musical terrain, we’re welcome QNTAL at the Amphi Festival. Since the beginning of the 1990s, this exceptional formation stands for the perfect symbiosis of medieval sounds and modern electronics. Once you’re fallen for their spell, is taken away by Syrah, Fil Groth and Michael Popp (ESTAMPIE ex-DEINE LAKEIEN) into a world where the laws of reality have no meaning – mystical, magical, sublime, experimental.
For Cologne’s Horror punks THE OTHER it’s a real home game. 138% focussed, the guys will rock the Amphi Festival with creeping horror stories and a healthy doze of dark humour. True to the motto “You are who you eat”, THE OTHER literally are family entertainment and enrich the Amphi Festival with a new facet.
