omd souvenir boxORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK (OMD) continue their celebrations regarding the 40th band anniversary by announcing a Box Set and a brand-new Greatest Hits compilation. The Box Set includes 5 CDs and 2 DVDs, a bound book, a poster, and a series of 10” prints, all packed in a 10” box. Besides the Box Set, there is a 2 CD and 3 vinyl records version with a brand-new greatest hits collection from 40 years of OMD containing all the singles from ‘Electricity’ to ‘What Have We Done’ as well as the exclusive release of the brand-new single ‘Don’t Go’.

Written and produced by Paul and Andy, ‘Don’t Go’ was recorded at the Bleepworks Studio in London. The song merges the plaintive melancholy of McCluskey’s lyrical refrain and the uprising synth melody of Paul Humphreys to the classic OMD style.

OMD sold 25 million copies of their singles and 15 million copies of their albums, what makes them pioneers of electronic synthesizers and one of the most popular pop bands of Great Britain. OMD released 13 albums, like the recently re-recorded ‘Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark’ (1980), ‘Organisation’ (1980), ‘Architecture & Morality’ (1981) and ‘Dazzle Ships’ (1983). The audio discs include all singles of the band from ‘Electricity’ to ‘What Have We Done’ as well as the exclusive release of the brand-new single ‘Don’t Go’. The box set contains all unpublished live shows of the Hammersmith Odeon from 1983, 22 unreleased archived demo versions selected and mixed by Paul Humphreys, rare und unreleased live material of BBC and the entire live shoe of the Mermaid Theatre in 2011.

One DVD includes BBC live performances of Top Of The Pops, Old Grey Whistle Test, Later With Jools Holland, and many more. The second DVD presents a live show from the Sheffield City Hall in 1985, another live show from the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in 1981, and ‘Crush - The Movie’. The book contains unreleased photos, artwork, an introduction of Paul Morley, and archive material notes of Andy McCluskey.

Besides the box set, there is a 2 CD and 3 vinyl’s version with a brand-new greatest hits collection from 40 years of OMD containing all the singles from ‘Electricity’ to ‘What Have We Done’ as well as the exclusive release of the brand-new single ‘Don’t Go’.
