UK act Duran Duran have created their own virtual universe inside 'Second Life', a privately-owned, partly subscription-based 3-D virtual world. The five original band members announced that they have commissioned their own custom-designed avatars who will live out a genuine 'second life' on a fantasy, luxury island, with 'in-world' concerts and media appearances taking place alongside the band's media, public and live engagements in the real world. Second Life was made publicly available in 2003 by San Francisco-based Linden Lab - a company that was founded by former RealNetworks CTO Philip Rosedale. The community now holds more than 350,000 'residents'. Duran Duran are currently in the middle of recording their next album for Epic Record which will be released in the New Year. IMPLANT - "Audio blender" CD/2CD (feat. FRONT 242 singer, Anne Clark, Unter Null, ...)Teaming up with Jan D'Hooghe (ex-VIVE LA FETE drummer) and surrounded by guest vocalists like FRONT 242's Jean-Luc De Meyer, ANNE CLARK, Erica Dunham of UNTER NULL and Jennifer Parkin of AYRIA, Len Lemeire serves us his 7th album. Expect a cocktail of modern electronics with an eighties melodic touch, danceable carrying beats and contrasting male/female vocals. The Belgian duo carries you through the corridors of electro clash and electro pop with some allusions to KRAFTWERK (“Don't Feed The Robots”) or TIGA (“The Stimulator”), before plunging you into harsh dancefloor industrial with tracks like “You Push Me” or “Murderous Thoughts”. Other gems include collaborations with FRONT 242's singer on “The Creature” revealing Jean-Luc's vocal potential at its best, plus 2 more surprising classic modern electro wave hits with Len's favourite partner in crime, ANNE CLARK on “Was It Always This Way” and the sensual “Your World”.

German black metal hopefuls DARK FORTRESS have been confirmed as support for renowned Norwegian genre-leaders Satyricon on three German dates of their European tour in 2006.Vocalist Azathoth comments: “Though we did lately announce on our homepage to not add any more concerts to the already confirmed ones for 2006, we decided to do these three additional shows. The reason for this decision is that Satyricon are one of our main inspirations since DARK FORTRESS´ foundation in 1994. Thus, it is a great honour for us to open up as direct support for Satyricon on these dates!”
