A Day to Remember, For the Fallen Dreams, Kenai
Of course, you’ve heard many times from bands, combining different styles to one whole. But it’s not absolutely certain that the outcome is a cohesive whole. With ‘For Those Who Have Heart’ they’ve already proved they belong to the small group of bands who succeeded in fulfilling that task. A DAY TO REMEMBER mingles classic hardcore roots with poppy parts and a pinch of Punk, gaining them a status you can’t explain with luck alone anymore.

The band, founded as duo in 2002 is purposely acting enigmatic and hard-to-categorize. Initially Kate Holmes (keys, Ex-FRANZIER CHORUS, married to OASIS discoverer Allan McGee) and Sarah Blackwood (vocals, Ex-DUBSTAR) only appear with the aliases Client A and Client B. The reason: “We want to be judged by our music and not by any superficialities!” Their custom-made look reminds of uniforms and lies somewhere between the poles East European secretary/stewardess and dominatrix. Their sound is an electro variation, rooted in classical composing. Influenced by JOY DIVISION, DAVID BOWIE, KRAFTWERK, DAF, THE SMITHS and North England’s songwriting tradition, CLIENT is the perfect counterpart to the omnipresent happy commercial pop.

On Saturday, 21st February THUNDER will play at Bochum’s Matrix. We’re sorry to announce, THUNDER will break up after the summer. The following message from the band reached us today:Dear All
As we enter Thunder's 20th anniversary year, we've found ourselves becoming increasingly busy with our various activities outside of the band, and we've come to the conclusion that there are simply not enough hours in the day to fit it all in. Having discussed it at length, we've decided that this is a fitting time for us to hitch up our wagons and ride into the sunset.

Winter is the best season for ice flowers, then they’re feeling fine. That goes for both, the wonderful creations, frost paints on our windows, but most of all for Ria, an ice princess, performing magic with her extraordinary voice - very touching, a little sad, but always full of hopes. The single ‘Eisblumen’ enters the German singles chart on #5; a definite proof for the extraordinary talent of the young newcomer from Berlin. It’s been a long time for the DOVES. All in all 4 years have passed, since their last studio album went straight to #1 of the UK albums chart. Now, they’re back to prove to fans and critics, their waiting for new material since February 2005 wasn’t in vain. The new album carries the title ‘Kingdom of Rust’ and is probably the most adventurous, most intimate, most driving, and most diverse album of the DOVES.
