Only a few days till the festival and we think it would be good to highlight some of the boring, but neceassary things: Regulations. You can read many aspectes in the FAQ-list, too, but as a a lot of them are conditions, which are set by the city administrations of Lichtenfels, it might be useful to bring out some of them again.

Regulations

Parking
In order to use the space of the parking lot as good as possible, we have to split parking and camping. Tenting isn't allowed on the parking lot („Schützenplatz“), but you have the possibility to use the camping area only 100-150m away and parking is for free there. Furthermore there are more possibilities of parking. The Edeka supermarket allocated us 100 free parking spaces, which are about 500m away from the festival area. You can also use the two multi-storey car parks of Lichtenfels (with costs, 370 parking spaces, 500-1000m away) or the parking lot at the railway station (with costs, 50 parking spaces, 500m away). The OBI building centre needs its parking area for own purposes at that weekend, so only use it, in case you're shopping! Parking at public „no parking areas“, backcountry camping and blocking of access roads is forbidden and will be punished by the police or Public Order Office of Lichtenfels. You are not allowed to use the area near the river Main (Street name: „Am Main“) neither for camping nor for parking. This area will be barred by the Public Order Office of Lichtenfels, too. We advice people, who drive to the festival on day, but drive back to their hotel/hostel at night, to use the multi-storey car parks, the parking lot at the railway station or the parking lot of the Edeka supermarket.

Camping
The camping area is next to the city hall and the sleeping hall. You have to walk at most 100-150m to the entrance of the city hall or to the parking area. Using it is free, but there will be a small fee of 5€. You'll get your 5€ back, in case you hand over a filled rubbish bag to one of our helpers. Cars aren't allowed at the camping area.

Glass ban
Glass isn't allowed on the whole festival area.

Alkohol ban outside the festival area
Due to a by-law by the magistrate of the town Lichtenfels consuming alcohol outside of the festival area is only allowed in restaurants and beer gardens.

Smoking ban
Smoking is not allowed inside of the town hall. It is however possible to smoke in the open air area right in front of the town hall without having to leave the festival area.

Right-wing extremism
Ragnarök Festival distances itself from political, ideological and religious extremism of all kinds, especially right-wing extremism and neo-Nazism. Executing gestures and wearing symbols which violate Germany's constitution will be punished without warning and will result in a ban from the festival and the parking/camping area.

For further information look at the FAQ-list. In case you have special questions or problems feel free to write us an email till the 14th of April 2009.

Festivalphone

Like it has already been announced there will be a festivalphone at Ragnarök 2009. The number is +49178/8263015 (German mobile network "e-plus"). Using that number you can contact the festival office from Wednesday, 15th of April till Sunday 19th of April (9 a.m. - 2 a.m.), in case you have really big problems/questions. Please do mind, that we can't reply to short messages and aren't able to call you back. Please do not call just for fun, because we want to carry that service as good as possible for you. From 15th till 19th of April we aren't able to answer your mails and posts at the forum properly.
