STAIND - one of the most successful bands of emotional rock - produced their last album ‘The Illusion of Progress’ in August 2008. The fabulous songwriter and singer Aaron Lewis opened the doors to the mainstream with ‘It’s been awhile’. Their track record seems to have no ending. The song ‘Believe’ climbed up the US-Charts in a fast way and Mike Mushok (guitar) reported at an interview: “‘The Illusion of Progress’ is a big Step for us - musical and textual.”

The LA Times music blog Pop & Hiss reports that Depeche Mode has finished recording work on the band's forthcoming studio album, its first since 2005's "Playing the Angel". The as-yet-untitled album, slated for release in April 2009, will have about 12 tracks. The band recorded 18 in total including "Wrong", "Peace Will Come to Me", "Hole to Feed", "Comeback" and "In Chains", the latter three were co-written by Gahan. Still according to the blog, the band might release a special EP or online-only add-on with the extra material next year.- Details

Out on February 3rd is the 3 disc set "The Final Chapter" by The Mission. The footage was recorded during four sell-out nights at the Shepherds Bush Empire, London in early 2008 where the band brought songs from their first 4 albums "The First Chapter", "God’s Own Medicine", "Children and Carved in Sand", plus other favourites.
