Announced out of the blue and out since yesterday is the brand new Nine Inch Nails release "Ghosts I-IV". "Ghosts I - IV" is a 36 track instrumental collection with almost two hours of new music composed and recorded over an intense ten week period in fall 2007. And as expected, Nine Inch Nails decided to take advantage of the current climate by presenting the release under various formats, including a free 9-track DRM-free, high-quality download or yet a deluxe $300 package. The free 9-track version has been uploaded by the band itself on various torrent sites, because they believe BitTorrent is a revolutionary digital distribution method. They add: "We believe in finding ways to utilize new technologies instead of fighting them. We encourage you to share the music of 'Ghosts I' with your friends, post it on your website, play it on your podcast, use it for video projects, etc."

Unbelievable but true …until today we already sold 60.000 tickets for W:O:A 2008! Promoters think that we´re sold out latest at the end of march / beginning of april! In a post in the Side-Line forum, Dependent label boss Stefan Herwig invites file sharing people to have a chat with him face to face during the upcoming the Seabound/Iris US tour where Herwig is present as tour manager and light engineer. In the post Herwig also explains the reason for this invitation: "I am noticing a decent increase of piss-take threads on how dead the CD is, how evil record companies are, how cool the file sharing community is, etc. Real arguments here are rare, but a couple of attention whores seem to find it remarkably funny to show up with nicknames like 'i stole ur muzak', etc. Its all fun and games on a forum, but does anyone of you cool file sharing people really have some 'real life' arguments to backup your evil deeds and justify file sharing?"- Details
