Alice In Chains - World Tour 2018
The iconic co-founders of Grunge Rock, ALICE IN CHAINS, have announced an extensive world tour, which takes them to Germany for two gigs this summer. The tickets for the relatively tiny Live Music Hall in Cologne sold out in a matter of moments, which manifests that there is a pretty solid demand to see the band even after all these years, and after they tragically lost their iconic singer Layne Staley in 2002 in a drug overdose.

‘Brot und Spiele’ (release date: 17th August 2018) - that’s the title of the new album by SALTATIO MORTIS, their eleventh, if you count only the studio albums - their nineteenth, if you include live albums and a ‘Best Of’. It has taken a lengthy three years to make, which may well have been due to the impressive number of sold-out concerts over the same time. These eight musicians deliberately took this time in order to make a worthy follow-up to its successful predecessor. Dozens of pieces were written, discarded, re-composed, improved, stripped down to their essence, and finally studiously rehearsed, all in one room, loud and thrilling. Gojira
Magma causes volcanic eruptions. Lying beneath the ground’s surface, this molten material engages the earth to unleash its own lifeblood. GOJIRA incite a similar release on their sixth full-length album and second for Roadrunner Records, ‘Magma’ (2016). Fuelled by unbridled emotion, the ten tracks confront the fragility of life, the aftershocks of loss, and what lies beyond this realm. Musically, the French quartet - brothers Joe Duplantier (vocals, guitar) and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (guitar), and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass) - gracefully swings between quaking and quivering guitars, mind-bending percussion, chillingly elegant melodies, and cosmic atmospherics. The band has always dealt in extremes, uncovering light in darkness and finding beauty in heaviness. ‘Magma’ continues that tradition, while expanding the sonic palette.
