Their 2009 movie documentary The Story Of Anvil has made them famous the world over, following seemingly endless years of energy-sapping tours de force marked by dismal organisational conditions. Their albums are considered as landmarks among a musical genre which is otherwise successively losing its identity. Their most recent release, Juggernaut Of Justice (2011), was a powerful and unrelenting thunderbolt of the first order. Now Canadian cult metal act Anvil are back with their new studio recording Hope In Hell. The album presents guitarist/vocalist Steve ‘Lips’ Kudlow, drummer Robb Reiner and their new bassist Sal Italiano in top form, highly dynamic and full of energy from the first to the last note. “We’re really proud and already love the new album just as much as our early releases from the beginning of the eighties, because Hope In Hell sounds like Anvil live on stage: natural, honest, unvarnished, never over-produced and straight from the heart.”

Archive - "With Us Until You're Dead"
With the genre defying Quadriology of 'Controlling Crowds', ARCHIVE had done a return to form turning their focus on big socio-political subject matter. I am mentioning this specifically because with their direct successor 'With Us Until You're Dead' the collective opts for a smaller scale and a more personal perspective on things. It has been described by the band already as “...love songs basically. But coming at the subject matter in that non-formatted Archive way.”

Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB have unveiled the artwork and tracklist for their forthcoming album “The Terror Tapes”. The band’s fourth album, to be released on April 19th in Europe and April 22nd in the UK, followed by a US release on May 7th, boasts a cover illustrated by veteran movie poster artist Graham Humphreys who created pieces for classics A Nightmare On Elm Street and Evil Dead. “We grew up in terror of VHS covers painted by Graham, but we never knew his name,”says vocalist Philly Byrne. “We found him, had the audacity to chat to him, and now it’s a dream come true to work together and to see the astounding work he’s done for us. The cover shows a man being consumed by a giant, living tape machine. It’s got the feeling of a grubby old 1980s video sleeve I think. It ties in perfectly with our obsession with old technology and mad horror imagery. It’s the best album cover we’ve ever had. Everyone else’s album art sucks because of this.”
