DEATHBOUND was formed in 1995 under the name of TWILIGHT. The purpose was to create some fresh and mind-blowing metal. A death metal base with a heavy dose of grind core was their choice of poison. The band released two demos under this name, entitled ‘Twilight’ and ‘Melancholy Of Northern Landscapes’. After the demos, they changed their name to UNBOUND and released another demo/promo entitled ‘Flames Of Madness’. A further name change saw their name finally stick on DEATHBOUND. Under this name, they released one more demo entitled ‘Elaborate The Torture’.

Germany's Ragnarök Festival confirmed three more bands. GRAILKNIGHTS, MIDNATTSOL and VARG will play their tunes between 29th April and 1st May 2010 at Ostbayernhalle (D-92286 Rieden/Kreuth).

Danish melodic death-metal band MERCENARY parts ways with vocalist Mikkel Sandager (picture), drummer Mike and keyboard player Morten.  Jakob (guitarist) states on the website: "Changes've been under way for a long time can sometimes come about in the blink of an eye. Last week, Mike told us that he wanted to leave the band permanently. The rest of us did some serious thinking and soul-searching, sat down and had ‘the big talk’ and came to the agreement that the only way to continue the band was to part ways with Mikkel and Morten as well. During the last year we have been working on a new album and it has become clear that we no longer share the same vision and enthusiasm about the direction and the future of the band. Martin, Rene, Mike and I wanted to play faster, heavier and more modern (yet old school) material, but for the band as a whole this evidently didn't work out." The band performed the last time together at Progfest Baarlo (NL)
