Saxon - “Thunderbolt 2018 European Tour Part 1” - Support: Diamond Head, Armored Dawn
After the successful tour cycle to the Top 20 album ‘Battering Ram’ (2015), which ended in this country with a celebrated performance at this year's Bang Your Head Festival in June, the British Metal legend SAXON will come back to Germany.
The band around frontman Biff Byford has confirmed four shows in February/ March 2018 accompanying the release of the new album ‘Thunderbolt’ (out 2nd Feb 2018 via Militia Guard / Silver Lining Music). The “Thunderbolt 2018 European Tour Part 1” takes the flagship of “New Wave Of British Heavy Metal” also to Dresden’s Alter Schlachthof on 3 March 2018. Special guest is another NWOBHM institution, their compatriots DIAMOND HEAD. ARMORED DAWN will be opening the evening.
The new album ‘Thunderbolt’ shows an original artwork by long-time partner Paul Raymond Gregory. The 22nd studio album in the history of the band was produced by Andy Sneap together with Biff Byford and is in the tradition of the last albums. The 22nd SAXON album, ‘Thunderbolt’, is a “Storming Smashing Thundering” collection of tracks they've been crafting with producer Andy Sneap and it is ready to be unleashed.
