Nazareth - “50th Anniversary” Tour - Part II

NAZARETH come from Scotland and was founded in 1968. Together with bands such as LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, URIAH HEEP or BLACK SABBATH they were the instrumental imprints of Hard Rock and laid the foundation for the years later emerging Heavy Metal. They debuted in 1971 with the album ‘Nazareth’ and achieved the first a top ten position of the German charts with ‘Loud 'N' Proud’ from 1973. The sixth output, ‘Hair Of The Dog’, sold over a million copies in 1975, making NAZARETH one of the top acts on every stage in the world. The band’s best known hits are ‘Dream On’, ‘Love Hurts’ or ‘Razzamatazz’.

Since the beginning singer Dan McCafferty has been the figurehead of the British band, with 60 million albums sold, together with SIMPLE MINDS, the most successful Scottish music group count. Even Richie Blackmore was so impressed by Dan’s voice that in 1973 he wanted to hire McCafferty to replace Ian Gillan at DEEP PURPLE. ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Telephone’ was released in 2014 and is the twenty-third album of the Scots and the last with Dan McCafferty, who had to leave the group in mid-2013 for health reasons. Now bassist Pete Agnew is the last remaining founding member. After a brief flying visit to the microphone by Linton Osborn, Carl Sentance was engaged in 2015, who was also responsible for the rough vocals at the Swiss Metal band KROKUS. For the 50th anniversary of the band, ‘Tattooed On My Brain’, the album No. 24 was released in 2018. A Europe-wide Anniversary Tour followed, which started in November and now continues.
