In a music scene that threatens to become increasingly trivial and faceless for years, EVERGREY are the (exceedingly demanding) silver lining. Already since 1993, the Swedish group around frontman / songwriter Tom S. Englund stands for a technically and compositionally impeccable level, combined with texts and messages that go far beyond pure Rock’n’Roll prose. With their latest album, ‘The Atlantic’, the five band members Englund, Henrik Danhage (guitar), Johan Niemann (bass), Jonas Ekdahl (drums) and Rikard Zander (keyboards) manifest their great reputation as one of the most extraordinary and innovative progressive Metal formations in the world.
At the same time they present the third part of the trilogy about the adventure of life started in 2014 with ‘Hymns For The Broken’. “Like ‘Hymns For The Broken’ and the 2016 sequel ‘The Storm Within’, it’s all about events and experiences we’ve been allowed to make in our lives,” explains Englund. “It’s about relationships, about beauty and darkness, about happiness and sadness, about love, hate, despair, joy and everything that goes with it. Life is like a journey across the ocean, on the way to distant shores.” What could be better than calling the new album, ‘The Atlantic’!?
