Molchat Doma - “UK & European Tour 2024” - Support: Urban Heat
The Belarusian Post-Punk band MOLCHAT DOMA, who have now found their home in the USA, have announced their tour of Germany with four dates. They will be joined by up-and-coming newcomers URBAN HEAT from the USA as their support act. With their unique mix of Post-Punk, New Wave, and Synthpop, MOLCHAT DOMA has built up a loyal fan base worldwide.
Gritty but danceable and with a heavy dose of Goth Ethos, their music is reminiscent of those who came before them, yet MOLCHAT DOMA creates a sound and meaning that is instantly recognizable as their own. The three-piece band includes Egor Shkutko, who sings the Russian lyrics with his deep monotone, Roman Komogortsev on guitar, synthesiser, and drum machine, and Pavel Kozlov on bass and synthesiser. Their influences include Perestroika-Era Russian bands such as KINO as well as Post-Punk and Synth-Pop greats such as THE CURE, SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES, DEPECHE MODE, and THE HUMAN LEAGUE. Their second album, ‘Etazhi’ (‘Floors’), was reproduced so often in Europe that the American label Sacred Bones signed the band in early 2020. They released their third album Monument in the same year.
With a broader tonal spectrum and progressive arrangements, their music remains emotionally profound and cool at the same time. From 2022 and 2023, the band toured extensively around the globe, with sold-out concerts at major venues such as Terminal 5 in NYC, the Shrine Expo Hall in LA and the Kentish Town Forum O2 in London. They have also performed at renowned festivals such as Coachella, Cruel World and Primavera. However, MOLCHAT DOMA experienced their viral breakthrough online when some of their videos reached more than a million views on YouTube and brought them great attention on Bandcamp. As part of their tour, they will be performing in four German cities and delighting audiences with their dark, melancholic music.
